What Is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing is a standard practice in online publishing. When you click a link on AvailSim and purchase an eSIM plan from one of our partner providers, we receive a small commission from that provider at no additional cost to you. The price you pay is identical whether you purchase through our link or go directly to the provider's website.

These commissions are our primary source of revenue and allow us to maintain the site, update plan data, and continue producing independent travel guides.

FTC Compliance

In accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255), AvailSim discloses all material connections between our site and the companies whose products we review or compare.

Affiliate links on AvailSim are marked with rel="sponsored" attributes in our HTML, consistent with Google's webmaster guidelines for paid links. Any link directing you to an eSIM provider's purchase page may be an affiliate link.

Amazon affiliate links appear in our packing guides and gear recommendation articles. When you click an Amazon link and make a purchase within 24 hours, we may earn a small commission (typically 1–4% depending on the product category). Amazon links cannot be cloaked or redirected — they link directly to Amazon.com.

Travel Insurance & Other Partners

AvailSim has applied to or is enrolled in affiliate programs with the following non-eSIM partners:

  • SafetyWing — travel insurance affiliate program. Links may appear in travel planning guides where travel insurance is recommended.
  • Sovrn Commerce — affiliate network used for select product links (e.g., Away Travel) in packing and gear guides.

Our Editorial Independence Policy

Affiliate commissions do not influence our plan rankings, editorial scores, or recommendations. Our comparison tables rank eSIM plans based on objective criteria — price per GB, network coverage, data validity period, hotspot support, and top-up availability — regardless of whether a provider has an affiliate relationship with us.

No provider can pay to improve their ranking or to have a competitor's plans excluded from our comparisons. We do not accept sponsored reviews or paid placements presented as independent editorial content.
