What Is the Taiwan Digital Arrival Card?
The Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC) is an online entry declaration form managed by Taiwan's National Immigration Agency. It collects your identity, travel, and accommodation information to speed up immigration processing.

Who Needs to Fill It Out?
All foreign nationals entering Taiwan must complete the TWAC, regardless of whether you need a visa or are entering visa-free. This includes US, UK, EU, Canadian, Australian, and Japanese citizens.
The only exceptions are ROC (Taiwan) nationals and residents with an ARC (Alien Resident Certificate).
How to Fill Out the TWAC (Step by Step)
Have your passport, flight details, and Taiwan hotel address ready. The process has 5 steps:
Go to the official TWAC website
Visit twac.immigration.gov.tw and select English (or your preferred language). Do this within 3 days of your arrival date.
Enter personal details
Full name, date of birth, gender, and place of birth. Pro tip: upload a photo of your passport data page to auto-fill these fields.
Enter passport and travel information
Passport number, nationality, visa type (select "visa-exempt" if applicable), flight numbers, arrival and departure dates, purpose of visit, and occupation.
Enter contact and accommodation details
Your home address, Taiwan hotel or accommodation address, phone number, and email. The confirmation email goes to this address.
Review and submit
Double-check everything, enter the verification code, and submit. You'll receive a confirmation email — no need to print it. Immigration will pull your data automatically when they scan your passport.
Forgot to fill it out before your flight?
You can complete the TWAC at the airport using QR codes displayed before the immigration checkpoint at Taoyuan International Airport. But filling it out before your flight saves time and lets you skip the queue.
Taiwan Visa-Free Entry Requirements
Citizens of 50+ countries can enter Taiwan without a visa. Here are the requirements and stay durations for the most common nationalities:
90-Day Visa-Free Entry
Nationals of these countries can stay up to 90 days without a visa:

- Passport with at least 6 months validity from date of entry
- Confirmed return or onward flight ticket
- Completed digital arrival card (TWAC)
- No criminal record that would bar entry
- Stay is not extendable (except for UK and Canadian citizens, who may extend to 180 days)
Other durations: Malaysia and Singapore nationals get 30 days visa-free. Thailand, Brunei, and Philippines nationals get 14 days (valid through July 31, 2026). For all other nationalities, check with your nearest Taiwan representative office.
